Canon shooter, hrm? I've heard good things about that lens. It seems to be about the Canon equivalent. I love the ultra-wide fast lenses. They're especially good for street photography. Save your pennies in a jar for that 16-35. I'm debating whether to get a 105 f/2.8 VR Micro (micro=macro in Nikon-talk), or an 85 f/1.4 next. I really want the brand new 24 f/2.8 PC for architecture but it's nearly $2k and I'd still need a really good tripod/ballhead combo which is another $1k.
